Cleveland's most storied avenue is the hottest location in the city!

Euclid ArielEuclid Avenue has had many differnet faces over the years. In the late 19th century and into the 20th century, it earned the nickname Millionare's Row for its lavish homes and mansions that lined both sides of the street. As the city grew, the residential homes made way for large office buildings and large retail stores. Euclid continued to be a retail center for much of the mid 20th century.

Today, Euclid Avenue is on the lead edge of a renaissance that is not only reshaping the look and use of the street, but the buildings that surround it. From Downtown Cleveland to University Circle, over $4 billion worth of public and private investment is being poured into the Euclid Corridor. The main project driving this renaissance is the construction of the city's newest transit line, the Healthline.

The Healthline

Healthline.jpgEuclid Avenue is home to the state-of-art HealthLine, Cleveland's first BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) line. The new transit system connects Downtown Cleveland to University Circle (the city's healthcare and cultural center). Bus Rapid Tranist is revolutionary because of its ability to take advantage of all the same benefits of a street car or light rail system, without the cost.

The HealthLine operates 24 hours a day and provides a 15 minute commute time between Downtown and University Circle. The brand new BRT vehicles that operate on Euclid are 60 foot long diesel-electric hybrids. Thanks to special traffic lights and dedicated lanes, these vehicles will be able to easily glide through the city without being hindered by traffic. To find out more about the Healthline, click here.
