Since late 2007, DCA has been partnering with the Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP) and the City of Cleveland to build better relationships with the downtown business community. Attracting and retaining quality downtown employers is extremely important to our organization and we recognize that the strength of Cleveland’s downtown business community is essential to the overall vibrancy of our city. The goal of this economic development program is to retain quality downtown employers and help them develop a greater presence in downtown

Office Visitation

The office visitation program involves representatives from DCA and GCP personally reaching out to downtown office tenants. During the one-hour visit, we introduce the organizational objectives of the DCA and GCP, businesses are asked a series of questions regarding their experience of working and doing business in downtown Cleveland, and details about current downtown developments are shared. These visits are a great opportunity for a business to express their opinions, pro and con, about working downtown. Together, we will brainstorm ideas of connecting the business to resources that could aid in their future downtown growth and success.

If you are interested in scheduling an office visitation, e-mail Sheri Bontrager or call 216-736-7799.

Business Forums

The goal of a business forum is to personally connect with businesses due to their essential involvement in the sustained vitality of downtown. At the forum, business representatives are provided a unique opportunity to meet with civic leaders, learn about the agenda for improving downtown, and voice their valuable opinions. Each forum lasts under two hours and includes a brief panel discussion followed by a question-and-answer session. Issues such as public safety, development projects, City loan and grant packages, and much more are brought to the table for discussion.

Business forums are scheduled a couple times per year and rotate between PlayhouseSquare, Warehouse District, Gateway Neighborhood, Civic Center, and Erieview District. For more information about the forums or to find out when the next will be scheduled, e-mail Sheri Bontrager or call 216-736-7799.
