Sparx in the City. Excitement that’s catching.
Sparx in the City, managed under the auspices of the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, is a downtown marketing initiative that stimulates commerce and vibrant street life in Cleveland by featuring the talents of local and regional artists. Sparx works with 52 cultural organizations, media outlets, development corporations, marketing agencies and government entities to create events that enhance quality of life for downtown residents and businesses, attract visitors, and help generate revenue for downtown merchants.
In the summer, Sparx in the City produces Street Beats. Thursdays and Fridays, live acoustic musicians, small dance troupes, jugglers and other street entertainers perform at popular venues and busy corners.
Sparx also produces the Gallery Hop, Ohio’s largest art walk. A colorful Trolly service connects venues across the city’s many art districts, delivering visitors to the work of more than 500 artists in galleries, studios, major festivals, and art institutions.
